DOROTHY House Hospice in Winsley is holding an Open Day to showcase their volunteering opportunities.

This event on Monday, June 1, is a drop-in between 2.30pm and 8pm, with an optional short presentation at 3pm and 7pm.

A spokespersons said: “Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. In fact, over 50 years ago the Hospice was founded by a small group of volunteers.

“We cannot run any of our services without the help of volunteers. Today, more than 1,200 people give their time in over 50 different volunteer roles involving skills such as gardening, clinical tasks, administration, fundraising, counselling and driving.”
