The Jack and Jill Hill Dash and Dog Show will be joined by a new attraction at Kilmersdon Village Day on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29th. A Pail Trail, when visitors will be challenged to pit their wits at unravelling clues to find buckets placed around the village, will also take place.

The Village Day Committee has again been working hard to ensure an even larger, fun packed day for all the family that will be opened at 10.45 a.m. by Kilmersdon’s new vicar, Revd David Izzard, closely followed by a nursery rhyme fancy dress competition at 11 a.m. and the dog show at noon.

Other star events will be the Susan Hill dancers; Terry Hill Big Band; OBE; Red Vendetta; Paulton Concert Band; Mells Community Choir; Mendip drummers and Bobby Martian and the Planets.

A car boot sale, funfair, a host of stalls, Sperring Court’s birds of prey, vintage cars, magic shows and guessing the make, model and year of a scrapped car will keep visitors further entertained, while refreshments will be served in the Coles Garden Meeting Room’s Country Market, the Village Hall, in the Church, at The Jolliffe Arms, and via a hog roast and ice-cream vendors.

After the Jack and Jill Dash up and down the hill with buckets, spilling the least amount of water for cash prizes from 3 p.m., the event will finish with a Grand Raffle in The Square.
