You can tell the season is coming to an end, the Men’s games are all finished and the Ladies have just two more games.
The Ladies played a Mendip League game against Keynsham at home on Thursday, and we only managed to get two of the ten points by winning on one rink. Our last game is against Alexandra Park on Tuesday, 25th.
Saturday we held the Club Mixed Triples competition, which was rearranged from 29th July. In this competition, we had six teams of triples. Four teams played in the morning and the winning teams played against the other two teams in the afternoon, after lunch provided by Carole and her helpers. The two winning teams will now play in the final on Finals Weekend. The winning teams are Julie Macfarlane, Sue Burke and Sheila Davis, who will play Carole Jenner-Timms, Stewart Macfarlane and Thelma Chun.
The Janet Norman Cup competition was played on Tuesday, 17th and Wednesday 18th September. More about this next week.
Finals Weekend is 22nd/23rd September, and even if you aren’t playing in any of these games, it will be most appreciated if you could come along and support the players. There will be a fish and chip lunch on the Saturday, but these must be ordered before the day with Carole Cocks or Sue Yarlett. There will be a list on the notice board.
