Our last get-together before Christmas, last Saturday, saw us all gather at Norwest for our Christmas Draw – and a very successful evening it was.

As we were promised, the evening started with Ann Woodham’s ‘silly’ quiz, and true to her word, as we would expect from Ann, it was really silly and at times thoroughly confusing! It was however, great fun, and a cause of much laughter and hilarity. Thanks, Ann, for lifting our spirits, and also to Mary, who ably assisted Ann, even if she was also confused at times!

We followed the quiz with a superb American supper. Thanks to all who provided food, and to all the bar staff, who kept our spirits high for the Grand Draw which followed. We had loads of prizes, with lots of Christmas goodies, biscuits, chocolates, ‘smellies’ and a large array of bottles of wines and spirits.

Thanks to everyone who supplied prizes for our draw, to everyone who bought tickets to support us and to all who came along for the evening. I’d personally like to thank my two assistants, Chloe Holmes and Jack Vine, for their invaluable help. Thanks, Chloe and Jack – I couldn’t have managed without you!

Lastly, I’d like to take this opportunity on behalf of both myself and Norwest Bowls Club to wish all our members, fellow bowlers and friends a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year.
