Mendip went into this fixture knowing it would be a tough match. Despite this, the home side started brightly and kept the University side at bay whilst working some attacking chances of their own. Unfortunately, the visitors capitalised on some Mendip errors and went 3–0 up before half-time.
Undeterred, Mendip started the second half much like they had the first and right wing, Emily Browning, lessened the deficit by slotting home a well-worked attacking move. Excellent defending by Sarah Whittaker and Player of the Match, Cosima Burgess, stopped the visitors in their tracks, however, as Mendip tired, the visitors put two more goals past them and the match ended 1–5.
Next week, Mendip travel to Clevedon to play Somerset Gryphons seconds.
