SEVENTY-EIGHT men competed in the 4-Man Centenary Trophy at Mendip Golf Club with seniors captain Paul Godwin leading the winning team with Frank Collins, Colin Davies and Paul Wood with 93 points. Hot on their heels were Martin Stephens, Andy Laing, Chad Patel and Andy Wells with 92 points.

The ladies held their 7th Order of Merit event for the Reid Trophy with Anita Butcher victorious with 40 points, closely followed by the in-form Julie Doyle with 39 points. Anita heads the ladies Order of Merit with a handsome 21-point lead from Louise Scott.

Bridget Rylance won the ladies 9 hole Stableford with a fabulous 25 points, followed by Maggie Brain with 21.

One hundred seniors played for the Kings Coronation Salver with 3 players scoring 41 points. Philip Bendall was the winner on countback from Tony Scott and club president, John Shakesby.

Tildee Rocker-Cook played in the Junior British Masters held at the Belfry on the legendary Brabazon course. Despite being the youngest in the field she genuinely competed with the strong field of girls much older than her.

Tildee drove the ball brilliantly off the tee all round but she was unable to capitalise on the chances she created off the tee. The tough pin positions of a real championship set-up made it difficult to make the pars and birdies needed to get into contention.

However she gained the experience of playing the iconic Brabazon especially enjoying the 10th and 18th holes, treading in the footsteps of Ryder Cup heroes... and importantly she had so much fun and many laughs with her playing partners.

Twenty-four players enjoyed a fun social golf event with the winners being Paul & Lizzie Wood with 25 points.

The scratch team played away to Mendip Spring earning a 26-20 victory with Mark Necker & Rob Edney pulling a very creditable win on their debut.
