The Senior Men narrowly lost their away fixture at Taunton and Pickeridge by four matches to three.
The first three Wells pairs – Ken Ford and John Chillington, Dave Hayward and Len Willis, and Nick Carter and John Moxon, all won close-fought encounters by 2&1, raising hopes of a rare away victory. However, the remaining pairs were not quite able to maintain the momentum, finding the greens tricky.
The Ladies enjoyed a friendly match against Weston-super-Mare at home and won 3½ to 1½. The pairings of Cath Levell and Jane Hilborne, Kathy Lane and Gill Magrath, Doreen Douglas and Janette Norris, all won their matches. Silvia Gibbon and Barbara Harris halved. Everyone looks forward to the return match next year.
