Howdy partners. Who would have thought it - the G7 summit meeting in Cornwall?!

Joe and Boris enjoying cream teas teas on the patio? I don’t think so somehow!

Anyway golf news. A fine entry of 84 Senior golfers took to the fairways for a Four Ball Better Ball competition played in extremely warm conditions. The course is in excellent condition for the Max Stone two day competition which attracted over 100 players.

In top spot were the evergreen Mike Bradbury, ably assisted by Stephen Cockle who paired up for a score of 47 points. In second place were the in form Steve Mitchell and his partner Ham Ridene – who started his round with an eagle two on the first hole – scoring 46 points between them.

Third place went to Steve Ball and Nigel Punchard with a score of 44 points. Nigel achieving his first competitive hole in one on the Par 3 fifth hole and scoring five points in the process. More importantly, however, was the wee drop of the hard stuff courtesy of the Seniors’ Kitty. Well done, Nigel.

Also on 44 points on countback were Colin Glibbery and Alan Smith. Unfortunately they both blobbed the twelfth for zero points. Oh, what could have been! Rob Thain
