IT WAS another hot day but also a very windy one as a small field of six pairs played for the Cowern Trophy at Wells Golf Club.

A mixed foursomes medal competition is not an easy format to play, and made harder with a draw for partners.

But it was a day to remember for Dave Baker (staff) who enjoyed a textbook hole in one on the 7th hole. The ball landed on the green and hit the flag and then dropped straight down into the hole. Ironically, it was the last place he was thinking of looking! So it was a very pleasant surprise.

Dave and his partner Erica Klim, went on to win the trophy with a nett 68. Mike Metcalfe and Julie Hill were runners up with a nett 76.
