Wells ladies first ICL match of the season was played in sunshine, with balls rolling nicely down the fairway. Taunton and Pickeridge brought a strong team, most of them familiar with the course and they won the match 4 - 3.

Congratulations to Sandy Heath, Katrina Foote and Gill Magrath who won their matches. Sienna Elliott won the individual competition at the Ladies Spring meeting and the Carole Nicholson trophy.

Congratulations to John North after two enormous shots and a 20 foot putt to score an eagle on the 18th hole in the Senior Mens match as Wells travelled to Enmore and won 4-2.

With a much changed team due to injuries, Wells won the first four matches before Enmore came back with a couple of wins, one of which may not have happened but for Glynn Hallet taking a tumble on the 11th and could not take to further part due to injury. Steve Dent valiantly battled on but was unable to hold out, eventually losing 4 and 2.

The Seniors’ April Medal took place on a windy but sunny day with Bill McCollum (nett 65) just pipping Mike Metcalfe (nett 66) to the win – the Division 2 winner was Bob Lench with a nett 72.

Dylan Pugh won the Junior Competition with 36 points with Stanley Dash coming second with 35.

John Sheppard won Club Night with a 12-hole score of 27 points – Philippa Gowen was second with 24. Guy Timson
