The Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club again found there is no place like home when they followed up a 4–2 win on their own course against Cricket St Thomas with a resounding 5.5–0.5 defeat at Cannington.

Once more, Captain John Appleton led the way with a 4&2 success in the company of John Bendle in the opening match against Cricket St Thomas. Even more convincing were the pairings of Mike Ricketts and Gerry Rowell and Allen Cheney and Denis White who won their matches 5&3. Bob Smith and Howard Nowell were the other winners finishing 5&4 victors, but there were defeats for Brian Phelps and John Williams, who lost 3&2 and Malcolm Tucker and Frank Reeves, who were beaten 4&2.

In the first match at Cannington, Appleton and Rowell led for most of the round, but in the end, had to settle for a half. This was the only bright spot in the contest, with all the other five pairings finishing in arrears. Cyril Blacker and Tucker were all square after 16 holes, only to lose both the 17th and 18th, while Reeves and Reg Curtis and Smith and Terry Button both lost 3&1. Ricketts and Bendle were beaten 3&2 and George Underwood, who was forced to play a lone hand, battled hard against two home players before eventually going down 4&3.
