Vice-Captain, Martyn Cuer, carried off the Don Shearn Trophy for the second year in a row in the Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club.
His stableford total of forty points was enough to beat John Waters on count-back. Henry Thomas finished third with 37 points.
Fosseway Seniors claimed their third social win of the season with a 4&2 victory at home to Shortwood Lodge. Captain, Gerry Rowell, and his partner, Mike Ricketts, got the team off to a good start with a 3&2 success, but the most convincing win came from John Bendle and Alan Jones, who won 7&5. Others to finish in front were Allen Cheney and Malcolm Tucker, and Cyril Blacker and Terry Button who were 2&1 winners. Cuer and Brian Woodruff were beaten 3&2 and Howard Nowell, and Frank Reeves lost 2&1.
