Alan White is very much the player to beat at the moment in the Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club after a series of impressive performances.
He narrowly missed winning the April Seniors medal but then came out on top in a closely contested Don Shearn Trophy contest and is already through to the final of the Rupert Moore Seniors Championship.
Seniors secretary Alan Jones denied White in the April medal with a nett score of 60. White was second with a nett 61 and newcomer to the Seniors section Phil Winsley was third with a nett 63.
The Don Shearn Trophy could not have been closer with three players finishing the individual stableford with 39 points. After countback White was announced the winner with Graham Edgell second and Allen Cheney third.
In the quarter-finals of the Rupert Moore Cup White beat Cyril Blacker, Mike Ricketts defeated Richard Sullivan, Malcolm Tucker came out on top against Seniors captain Frank Dance and Martyn Cuer had the better of Competition secretary Chris Appleton. In the semi-final White defeated Ricketts and in the final awaits the winner of the Cuer, Tucker semi-final.
