The Ladies Alliance A Team played Chipping Sodbury in very rainy conditions forcing a halt to proceedings for a short while whilst the greens drained from a very heavy downpour. However the conditions eased allowing the match to continue resulting in a win for Mendip 8-6 with wins from Aimee Sawyer, Jinhee Page, Lynne Vowles and Ellen Reakes, whose victory contained a hole in win, well done Ellen. The Friendly Team visited Knowle and recorded a 2½-1½ victory with wins from Louise Scott/Pippa Brown and Suzy Rudkin/Vicky Hicks and a half from Anne Collins/Gina Howard.

The Seniors completed a comprehensive win 7-0 over the visitors from Knowle.

Somerset’s under 14s Team kept up their unbeaten record this season when away to Cornwall the match played at St Austell winning 11-1.

Significantly, four of the team were Mendip Juniors so very well done to Alec Roberts, Alexander Leonard, Owen Roach and recent new junior member Tate Sinfield-Day. Their involvement just shows the ongoing improving strength of Mendip’s Junior Section. With one match to go against Wiltshire, this match will decide the overall County Champions for 2023.
