Despite continuing difficult weather conditions, some competitive golf is still being played. The Pro Shop Stableford saw a win for Andrew Robinson with thirty nine points. Louise Scott was second with thirty six after countback from James Callow. Craig Sharp was fourth with thirty five.

The Nearest the Pin Competition saw a win for Kevin Carmody with Jack Harrington second and Paul Jamieson third.

Fourty four Ladies played in the nine-hole Texas Scramble and there were only six shots between the first and last Teams. Winning with a net twenty nine were Anita Butcher, Carol Curtis, Elaine Kitchenham and Penny Oliver. Second, a point behind with a net thirty, were Anne Collins, Liz Rose, Diane Stanton and Pauline Williams and after count back Margaret Allen, Gina Howard, Caroline Laws and Cora Pavey were third with a net thirty two.

The latest Mixed Social Golf competition saw a ‘partner changing’ event and a win, after countback with fourty four points, for Pippa Brown playing with David Judge, just beating David’s wife Fiona playing with Clive Copp. Elaine P Richardson and Peter Rummings were third with fourty points. It was great to see David and Fiona playing in this their first social golf event.

Also a special mention to very new member Vicki Hicks who has yet to gain her first handicap. She was obviously unable to win a prize although she and Rob Richardson actually equalled the winning score. More importantly Vicky was warmly welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed this early introduction to competitive golf.
