One hundred and forty six men played in the annual running of the Stephenson Cup.
Division One went to Charlie Pike with thirty seven points with Jonathan Watts second on thirty six after countback. Brian Smith won Division Two with thirty nine points with Mark Necker second with thirty eight after countback. Sam Watts won Division Three with forty two points, with Rob Ware second with forty one. However, the Trophy went to a very much on-form Spencer Pocock with a fine forty three points. The best gross was won by Nick Cox with seventy two.
Fifty nine men played in the mid week stableford which saw a win in Division One for Kevin Keene with thirty seven with Jordan Vaughan second with thirty six. Division Two went to Richard White with thirty eight, Shaun Rich came second with thirty six after countback and Division Three went to Colin Wiltshire with an excellent forty three points with Chris Bennett second with thirty seven.
Nearest the Pin was won this week by Dean Lewer, Alec Roberts was second and Gary Quin third.
On a very wet day, the Ladies Qualifying Stableford was won by Julie Doyle with forty one points, Lilian Peel was second with thirty eight and Chris Williams third with thirty seven. Lynn Cox won the 9-hole event with twenty points after countback from Elaine Richardson with Sue Needham third with nineteen points.
The Ladies Alliance A Team had a fine but close victory 8-6 when visiting Farrington with wins from Ladies Captain Aimee Sawyer, Jinhee Page, Lynne Vowles and Ann Lofts. The B Team had a resounding home win when entertaining Weston, 13-1, wins coming from Jenny Merrett, Lynn Cox, Anne Hopkins, Jo Espley, Jan Fukuyama, Chris Down and with a half gained by Vi Hayes.
The Seniors Avalon Team had an unexpected defeat when entertaining Cricket St Thomas 2-3. All the matches went to a close finish but only Steve Davis/David Golledge and Paul Wood/Simon Atkinson were able to gain wins.
The Seniors Friendly Team had a fine 6-1 home win over Tidworth, the first leg of the annual Tidworth Trophy contest. Wins came from Stephen Cox/Colin Davies, Steve Davis/Andy Humphries, Robert Miller/John Stembridge, Selwyn Rees/Andy Frampton, Gary Quin/Nick Inskip and Terry Carter/Paul Wood.
