Mendip’s Men’s Mid-Week Tankard had 51 entrants and again scoring was tricky. However, young Matt Rawlings put together a fine round of 40 points to win Division 1, with Will Waddington second, with 36 and Dean Lewer, third, with 35. Division 2 was won by John Padfield with 35, Eric Jordan with 34, was second and John Shakesby, third, with 33.

Division 3 went to Rob Millard, with 38, John Sewart was second, with 37 and John Hargraves third, with 34.

The annual running of the Stephenson cup attracted a large entry of 127 competitors. With excellent playing conditions and greens now benefitting from the recent rain, scoring was very competitive. Division 1 was won by Matt Lambert, with net 69, Wayne Black was second with 70 and Tom Lowe third, with 71. Division 2 went to Peter Kivi with 69, beating Gary Pepler on countback. Chris Charles was third with 70. Division 3 was won by a rejuvenated Andy Parfitt with 69, beating Clive Down on countback with Michael Lewis third with 70. However, the Cup Winner came from Division 3 in the guise of long time member Paul Godwin, who carded an excellent net 68.

Mendip recorded a fine 4–1 win in the Somerset County event, The Pickeridge Cup, when beating Taunton and Pickeridge, played at a very windy Burnham and Berrow. The wind combined with super fast greens made for a real test of golf. However, Mendip’s Men showed some fine skills to overcome these conditions and there were wins for Tom Small, Keir Carnie, Club Captain Richard Jeffrey and Martin Myers.

The Ladies have had a very busy time. The Granny Trophy was won by Dee Garnsworthy with 35 points. The Barlow Cup a qualifying stableford, saw a large field competing. Division 1 went to Jinhee Page with 34 points with Anita Butcher second with 33 and Chris Olds third with 32. Division 2 was won by Di Stanton with 31, with Andrea Williams second with 30 and Chris Williams third with 27. Division 3 went to Anne Collins with 34, Caroline Simper was second with 32 and Elaine Richardson was third. However, the winner of the Barlow Cup was Mary Ainsworth with 35 points.

The Ladies’ four person team event was closely contested. The winners were Mary Ainsworth, Di Stanton, Sandie Roper and Anne Collins with 117 points and in second place, with 114, were Mary Ware, Nichola Croft, Trish Murphy and Val Dixon.

The Ladies Alliance A Team had a fine 8–6 victory when home to Burnham and Berrow. There were wins for Aimee Sawyer, Gill Brown, Ladies Captain Patricia Rawlins and Team Captain Marian Speed. The Inter Club Team were not quite so fortunate and went down 2½–4½ when away to Stockwood Vale. Every match saw Mendip giving shots, 13 in one match! However, there were wins for Lulu Carolan and Di Stanton, with Margaret Hawker gaining a half. The InterLeague Team then went down to a narrow defeat 3–4 against Wheathill. Mendip winners were Lulu Carolan, Mary Ainsworth and Di Stanton.

The Ladies Friendly Team when away to Bath suffered a heavy defeat. However, the Alliance B Team recorded an excellent 10–4 win against Wedmore A Team on a glorious sunny day. Mendip winners were Chris Down, Jo Espley, Linda Brobson, Edwina Willis and Chris Olds.
