Meanwhile, Lynne Vowles holed in one on the 18th in the John Wain 1 Competition.

On a sunny, but breezy, afternoon the Mendip Seniors were on the road again, this time to Sherborne where, unfortunately, their away form let them down again. A strong showing from the home team led to a 5-1 loss.

The Ladies A team played Long Ashton at home. Despite some threatening weather, golfers survived one downpour and had several close matches. The final result was 9-5 to Mendip.
After a disappointing away defeat earlier in the week, despite the absence of their talismanic Senior Captain, the Mendip Seniors showed their resilience and strength in depth by winning their next match at home against Bristol & Clifton.
On a pleasant, if not squally afternoon, the home course was in excellent condition, and senior vice-captain Ian Whittamore was able to lead the team to a 4-2 victory. The away team captain voiced his appreciation of the course, catering and home team hospitality said he very much looks forward to the return fixture.
