A fine field of seventy-seven Senior golfers took to the fairways of Farrington Park for this playing of a non-qualifying Stableford competition.

With first tee times changing to 8.30 am from 1st December, the early starters will not have to contend with poor light and heavy dew but instead can enjoy an extra half hour in bed!

With the 5th hole temporarily closed closed to new drainage works, the competition was played over 17 holes. Some excellent scores were nevertheless recorded by a number of players, none more so than Andy Smith, who racked up an amazing 48 points! I sense a big handicap reduction in the annual handicap review.

Results – First Division: Brian Brown 38, Rob Thain 37, Steve Hobbs 37.

Second Division: Pierce O’Shea 41, Bob Baker 39, Dave Millington 39.

Third Division: Andy Smith 48, Mark Howell 39, Ray Wilkinson 37.

There were a total of ten players sharing the 2s’ pot.
