No walkies in this weather! Horrible, horrible, horrible weather greeted Farrington Park Seniors for the anticipated playing of a Tennessee Waltz.
Incessant rain had fallen for the previous 48 hours so the fact that the course was open at all was a minor miracle. Most teams ventured out at the start, but were wildly optimistic that their game would be completed.
In the event, only ten teams finished their round amid a barrage of jibes and claims of insanity! No dogs had been spotted out walking, so that about says it all.
Winning with a score of 53 points was the consistent Steve Hobbs, partnered by Mel Field and Geoff Clare, who on countback pipped the trio of Barry ‘Hal’ Hall, Tony Clement and Steve Ball. A further point adrift were Don Perry, David Brown and Alan Smith. Claiming fourth spot were Leo Seddon, Steve Brixey and Richard Collier.
No twos this week, so an additional £37 into the Captain’s Charity. Nearest the soggy pins on eight and fourteenth were Colin Glibbery, and Rick Clark on fifteenth.
