A beautiful day greeted the Wells’ Senior’s team to Clevedon, where seven teams of two players each battled it out on wonderful parkland course overlooking the Bristol Channel.

Phil Spring and Steve Dent won their match, with Steve trying his best to support the rest of the team by slicing a shot into the chest of one of the opposition. Stuart Mann and Bill Levell lost out in their game, with Stuart losing out a second time as his ball lipped out for a two on the fifteenth.

Likewise, Geoff Spinks and Graham Bingham lost a close match but Graham could console himself with his magnificent two spot.

George Davis and Alan Hayes won their game with George making the most of the tree trunks around the course to good effect. Allan Thompson and John Baker lost their match but the two spot for John eased his pain.

So, the final score ended four games to Clevedon and three to Wells role on next year’s fixture.
