Wells Golf Club managed to survive the high winds with little obvious damage, which was a nice surprise for a course with plenty of trees.

The Captains’ Drive was held last Sunday, having been rearranged from earlier in the month because of the weather – a full report will appear next week, but the winners were Dean Hamilton, Michael Metcalfe, Nick Carter and Dave Baker.

The Ladies’ roll up on Tuesday missed the sunshine in the afternoon and, instead, braved the wind and rain in the morning, breaking at least one umbrella in the process. The winning team, playing a 3 ball Bowmaker, were Joan Stembridge, Sienna Elliott and Silvia Gibbon.
