The Captains’ Challenge was played in glorious weather, with pairs aiming to better the score of Colin Mantle and Cath Levell.
Steve and Jill Bocquet played the Greensomes format in fine style to come in with an excellent 41 points and claim the trophy. Nick Carter and Phyl Lewison came second with 39 points.
The Mixed Summer Knockout was won by Erica Klim and Mike Metcalfe, with Cath Levell and Mick Currell being runners-up. Klim and Metcalfe had been two or three down for most of the match but then found their ‘A game’ and won two-up on the 17th.
In the Ladies’ summer knockout pairs competition, the teams were all square after eighteen holes, and set off up the first again. They were beaten by the twilight, so reconvened the match on the third hole the next day. Erica Klim and Philippa Gowen won when Klim parred the third hole. Silvia Gibbon and Gill Magrath were the runners-up in this marathon.
