The Wells Seniors’ presentation dinner was an opportunity for players to gather at the end of their season for a final event.

John Moxon, the Seniors’ Captain, outlined his season and expressed gratitude to all who had supported him through the 36 matches in which the seniors had played this year.

Wells this year had won the Seniors’ Somerset Bowl, a knock-out foursomes competition for all clubs in Somerset. They had beaten Farrington in the final, 4½-½. This was a great achievement.

The winner of the Seniors’ Championship this year was Tim Harris, who fittingly ended the evening with a few words of thanks.

The Annual Wells versus Worlebury Salver took place in the rain. There were wins for the pairings of Cath Levell and Erica Klim, Malcolm Terry and Colin Mantle, and George Davis and Philip Slater, so the opponents won 5-3.

The Seniors’ November stableford results are: Division One – first, Steve Payne with 46 points; second, Allan Bancroft with 43 points. Division Two – first, Ian Gleave with 35 points; second, Richard Hole with 35 points.
