Congratulations to Guy Timson, who had a hole-in-one at the 7th for five points in the stableford competition. Sadly, there are no two-spots, or one-spots, in these competitions!

The results were as follows: First place, Justin Chadburn with 42 points; second Mark Robinson with 38 points; third Steve Barrow with 37 points on countback.

Two Open competitions were held this week. The first overall winners of our Ladies’ Open were Lynne Vowles, Suzette Worthington and Chuleekorn Poole, all from Bristol and Clifton, and they came in with a score of 78. The First Away Team were Jackie McCarthy, Melinda Wright and Kim Burchill from Tracey Park, with a score of 75.

The First Home Team were Silvia Gibbon, with Sandie Roper and Dee Garmsworthy, both from Mendip, with a score of 72. The second Away Team were Angel Hudd, Wendy Butt and Jackie Walker, all from Farrington Park, with a score of 71 on countback. Suzette Worthing was nearest the Pin on the 5th and Sandy Heath on the 17th. Teams came from as far as East Devon and South Herefordshire.

There were large prizes on offer for a hole-in-one on all the par-threes at the 4BBB Open, and Mike Vincent was incredibly close to a claiming the major prize on the 10th.

James Church and Jason Huck had an incredible start with 28 points on the front-nine, but were not able to continue their form. James Stainer and Joshua White, Wells, just pipped them due to a better back-nine, with 45 points.

The winners were Steve Clark and Cliff Hopkins with an amazing 47 points. Steve Clark says his putting was faultless and was well-supported by Cliff, who is enjoying his return to golf. Chris White and Simon Grant, Mendip, were the leading visitors with 44 points.

Winner of the Ladies’ Daphne Pring Trophy was Kitty Usher, showing everyone round in fine style. Second was Gill Magrath and in third place was Sandy Heath.
