Norwest Bowls remember long serving member
I am sad to announce the passing of Dennis Hancock last Saturday, Dennis was a long serving member of the club, he was part of the Monday working party and, with Keith Coombes, was founder member of the Friday fish and chip Skittles league, our thoughts are with Joan and family at this time.
In the County League the A team travelled to Paulton and came away with a 12.0 win, the B team played a strong C team away to Purnells and lost 10. 2.
In the MSL we beat Purnells B 10. 2 in the MMSL, we lost at home 10.2 against Stohert and Pitt.
The A team lost away to Portishead B L in the two rink by three shots but the B team beat Keynsham A away and will host Clevedon Prom this Sunday at home.
The friendly away to Knowle we lost by three shots.
An impromptu Jubilee game was played last Thursday between fellow bowlers and a good afternoon it was! Our away day at Weymouth was enjoyed by all, a big thank you to Steve, our driver from Berkeley Coaches, who looked after us very well.
In the Top Club, Bath visited us and won 5. 0. The score line was a bit flattering as Gary Gunstone lost on the last end to Craig Doughty 21.20, also the triples skiped by Andy Walker lost by one shot on the last end 18. 17.
