With the outdoor season rapidly drawing to a close, the annual charity games commenced on Monday with Purnell playing a combined team of Frome Selwood/ Frome Park at Norwest Bowls Club, the result was a very friendly draw over five rinks.

Tuesday saw the second of the charity games with Purnell playing Norwest at Frome Selwood , the result was a four rinks to one victory for Purnell who fielded one rink of ladies and showed the men how its done with a one-shot win. On Wednesday, our MSL ‘A’ team took on Street in the semi-final at home, unfortunately losing out overall.

It was much better for our ladies on Thursday who travelled to Wyrral park and came with a win on shot difference having lost on two rinks.

The mixed MSL on Friday evening was played at home in dull, wet conditions against Bloomfield with the result of 2-10 to Bloomfield.

The Saturday league games had mixed results with our ‘A’ team home to Ilminster losing 2-10 . The ‘B’ team traveled to Frome Selwood winning 10-2 and our ‘C’ team home to Frome Park and although losing overall managed to win on one rink , draw on another and narrowly lost on the third losing by only three shots overall.

The semi-final of the Fear cup took place on Sunday at Bloomfield against Portishead RBL who proved to strong for our ladies. Good luck to RBL in the final next week and a huge thank you to Bloomfield for their hospitality. Commiserations to our ladies, but did fantastically well to get that far.
