Our two ladies National fours teams have progressed to the next round with convincing wins over Chew Stoke and Alexandra Park. Ailsa and Maureen have progressed to the quarter finals of the Ladies County pairs with a win over Victoria W S M. The men’s Saturday league produced mixed results, with our A team unfortunately losing on all rinks to Bath A, but our C team had a much needed 10- 2 win over Norwest B.

Last Sunday saw a very successful open day at our Club. Numerous, potential new bowlers of all ages came along to give it a try with coaching from Don, Mel and Colin.

Many very positive comments were made in relation to the facilities on offer and the overall friendly atmosphere of the club. I’m sure the bribery of tea, bacon butties and Angie’s fairy cakes had nothing to do with it.

On Saturday, 4th June, Purnell bowls are holding Jubilee celebrations starting at 2.00 pm with a bowls drive followed by a Bar-b-que, Quiz and music into the evening.
