On our regular Tuesday evening meeting, resplendent in red, white and blue, and with a table positively groaning with jubilee food, we celebrated this unique occasion.
The jugs of Pimms, with which to toast Her Majesty, certainly helped the evening go with a swing.
The following Sunday, we travelled to Wells for the Wells Jubilee Boules Tournament. With a two year break, due to Covid, it was a welcome return for this very popular tournament. This year it was held in the Bishop’s Palace gardens, what a magnificent setting. We played on the paths between the flower beds! The sun shone, the band played, a truly fantastic day, and, no, we didn’t win! As usual we meet every Tuesday, 6pm at Norton Hill Recreation Ground, where everyone is welcome. Diana Cooper
