PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council and Somerset Council in the Somer Valley area:
A prohibition of waiting at any time parking restriction is to be introduced at Entry Rise and Hawthorn Grove, Combe Down, Bath. Coming into effect on Monday, September 1, a copy, together with a map and a statement of the council's reasons for making the order may be inspected, free of charge, at The One Stop Shops at The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer Norton, and at 3-4 Manvers Street, Bath.

Introducing a prohibition of a waiting at any time parking restriction at Fox Hill and Handford Square, Combe Down, Bath, coming into operation on Monday, September 1.
To introduce a prohibition of waiting / loading at any time parking restriction at Claverton Down Road, Bath. It will come into operation on Monday September 1.
Entry Hill Road, Bath, will be closed from Monday, September 1, to Friday, October 17, to be applied at all hours of the day. This is to enable Bath & North East Somerset Council to carry out various highway improvement works.
Midford Road, Bath, will be closed from Tuesday, November 25, to Thursday, November 27, to enable Bath & North East Somerset Council to carry out various highway improvement works. Closure will be in place from 7pm to 7am each day.
Alpine Road, Paulton, will be closed from Monday, September 8, to Friday, September 19, in order to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out gas main upgrade works. An alternate route is available from Alpine Road (remainder) to Clandown Road to B3355 Salisbury Road, and vice versa.
A temporary 40mph speed limit will be put in place at Bunns Lane, Frome, from the junction with the B3092 Blatchbridge Roundabout to Frome Road from 5am to 7pm on Saturday, September 13.
