PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council in the Somer Valley area:

•  Stanton Wick Lane, Stanton Drew will be closed from Tuesday, September 9, to Thursday, September 11, in order to enable Bristol Water to install a new connection.

•  A road closure will be in place along the length of Rag Hill/White Hill, Shoscombe, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm on Thursday, September 11, in order to enable Openreach to carry out a pole replacement.

•  Frome Old Road, Radstock, will be closed from Tuesday, September 9, to Friday, September 12, in order to enable Wales & West Utilities to lay a new gas service.

•  Bedford Street, Walcot, will be closed for three weeks from Monday, September 8, on order to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out gas main upgrade works.

•  Right turn restrictions will be put in place at Harrington Place, Trim Street and Upper Borough Walls to facilitate the Jane Austen Festival Grand Regency Costumed Promenade on Saturday, September 13, between 10.45am to 1pm. Barton Street will also have the one way restriction suspended to allow two way traffic between the junctions of Harrington Place and Trim Street.

•  Harptree Hill, West Harptree and Highfield Lane, Compton Martin will be closed on Thursday, September 18, between 9.30am and 3.30pm in order to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works.

•  Carlingford Terrace Road, Radstock, will be closed from Monday, September 15, to Friday, September 20, in order to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out gas main upgrade works.

•  Eastover Road, High Littleton, will be closed from 11pm on Tuesday, September 23, and 12.30am on Wednesday, September 24, to enable National Grid to carry out electricity sub-station transformer replacement works by use of a loader/mobile crane.

•  Englishcombe Road, Englishcombe, will be closed from Monday, September 15, to Wednesday, September 17, in order to enable Wessex Water to install a new connection in the carriageway.

•  High Street, Paulton, will be closed from 9am to 4pm on Sunday, September 14, to provide a safe working area for Openreach engineers to excavate and install new ducting in the footway.
