PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council and Somerset Council in Midsomer Norton and the surrounding towns and villages:
Nine week long road closures
An order has been given by Bath and North East Somerset Council to temporarily introduce a road closure for the length of Charlton Park, Midsomer Norton, at its junction with the A367 Fosseway South, extending westward by roughly 50 metres.
This order will also impact Beauchamp Avenue, Midsomer Norton, at its northern junction with A367 Fosseway South, extending west for an approximate length of 50 metres.
This has been put in place in order to allow contractors to carry out S50 drainage upgrade works for the Barratt Homes development.
These works are expected to be conducted between Monday, October 20, and Friday, December 19, for a total duration of nine weeks. Only one road will be closed at a time.
Paulton Road closure
An order has been made to close Paulton Road, Midsomer Norton, which will also impact Chilcompton Road, Paulton Road’s junction with Clapton Road and Redfield Road, heading north until Dymboro Avenue.
The road will be closed to cyclists, horse riders and motor vehicles, and will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position. Workers say the roads will not be affected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.
This order will be in place between the hours of 9.30am and 3pm from Monday, October 20, to Friday, October 24.
In addition to the closure, all parking is suspended for the lengths of the road.
Road closure at Brookside
Notice has been given to introduce a road closure for the length of Brookside, Paulton, from its junction with Chestnut Close extending south to its junction with Brookside Close.
This order is being placed to provide a safe working area for Openreach engineers to excavate and lay new duct in the carriageway and footway.
It will be in effect between the hours of 9.30am and 3pm from Monday, October 20, to Tuesday, October 21.
