PAULTON Bowls Club played Frome Park away in the County League.

However they proved too strong on one rink and Paulton came away with just 4 points after a win on two rinks which drops them down to fifth, on shot difference, so much depends on the final game against WestonBath.

The second of the charity matches was against a combined Frome team away at Purnells where floodlights were needed. Frome took the honours but a great time was had by all taking part.

A similar result, if somewhat closer, was seen in the match against Norwest at Purnells.

The ladies have also had mixed fortunes since the last report with a win at home and loss away, both against City of Wells in the Wild League.

Finally, the Paulton club are hosting a coffee morning on September 18 in aid of Macmillian Cancer. All are welcome; coffee, cake, hand massage and grand raffle on offer (10a.m.).
