A fantastic score of forty points earned Farrington Park Golf Club’s Lo Dallocco first prize in the Tree Trophy competition held on 27th October. Lady Captain, Pauline Young, who had played with Lo, presented her with the trophy and added that she had witnessed a beautiful, solid performance, with Lo on top form. With the CSS increased to 76, Lo had her handicap cut by four shots.
A large field of forty ladies entered the competition on a foggy October day, when scores in the top thirties are not expected. In second place was Jane Ball, whose excellent 38 points could easily have been a winning score. In third place was Maureen Charlton with 36 points, and fourth was Jackie Walker, with 33 points. Both Jane and Maureen also received handicap cuts.
The Coppers’ Novice Scratch Salver was played on the Manor course on Tuesday, 18th October with four ladies taking part. The competition consisted of twice round the Manor course and was open to
anyone with a handicap of 36 or without a handicap.
The winner, on countback, with a gross score of 82, was Debbie Jones, and second, also with 82, was Denise Baker. The Salver was presented by the Lady Captain, Pauline Young, who was thanked for her time spent running Coppers over the last few years by Bridget Rylance, who has now replaced Pauline.

The mist had lifted, spirits were high and many of the seniors were looking forward to the final qualifier of the year of the white tees.
However, disappointment prevailed as the greenkeeping staff had not been informed and the tees had been taken in the previous day! Instead, the competition was played off the green tees, with Welshman Fred Grist shooting the best score of the day, amassing 42 points.
