Farrington Park’s star golfer, Josh Hilleard, has been selected for the England Men’s Elite Squad.
The 21-year-old left hander was picked after finishing third on the 2016 English Men’s Order of Merit, winning four tournaments, helping England to beat France to win the Costa Ballena quadrangular tournament and taking second place in the Colombian International in Bogota.
Josh is now a member of the eight man squad and will stay within the team for at least twelve months, with his ultimate goal being a place on the Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team playing the US next September.
The talented plus four handicapper is off to South Africa in the next couple of weeks for the England squad winter training in preparation for the 2017 season.
Farrington Park are very proud of him and wish him the best of luck for 2017.
Seniors
A crispy, frosty landscape greeted the Farrington Park seniors. With below zero temperatures, colder than the most hardy of brass monkeys, winter had truly arrived. A stern test of stamina and physical ability for the early starters, as the wearing of so many layers is not conducive to the perfect swing, as was evident from the relatively low scoring in this non qualifying Stableford.
