The wet weather held off for the ladies last Thursday and a 123 Waltz Bowmaker competition was played over thirteen holes, starting at the sixth.

With one best score to count on the first hole (sixth), two best scores counting on the second hole and all three to score on the third hole, before repeating the scoring process with subsequent holes, the pressure was on to make the most of the scoring opportunities on offer.

No two spot birdies were recorded from the fifteen teams and only six points separated the top four teams.

Fourth place went to Rosi Brown, Lin Papas and Min Woodward, with 47 points. Mandy Hobbs, Gail Proctor and Jackie Walker scored fifty points for third, two points behind second placed Jackie Hobbs, Lena Warren and Lo Dallocco. A birdie at the long par 5 11th hole and two pars at the shortened 7th hole helped the winners, Jane Ball, Lally Gibson and Carol King, score 53 points.
