The Stragglers enjoyed a visit to Trethorne Golf Club in Cornwall. Jon Mackness selected a random draw for groups, and as each group played the first hole, mother nature played her part, with rain, sleet, snow, wind and then the sun as well!

The results of the first day: In first place was Adam Holliday with 41 points (who had never played the course before); second was Grant Rogers, with 35 points; third was Simon Elliott with 35 points; and Nearest the Pins were Simon Elliot and Stuart Gowen.

Stuart Gowen was fined for having the Longest and Shortest drive (one inch) of the day, and Steve Heath for wearing a polo shirt for most of the round, when it was freezing!

The second day brought very windy conditions, and the results were: First place, Stuart Gowen with 36 points; second place, Phil Kenworthy with 35 points; third place, Grant Rogers with 34 points. Nearest the Pins were Phil Kenworthy and Grant Rogers, with Adam Holliday having the Longest Drive.

The overall weekend results were: First place, Adam Holliday with seventy points; second place, Grant Rogers with 69 points; and third place was Stuart Gowen with 67 points.

Everyone enjoyed the course and the hospitality that the club provided from the minute we arrived, and £165 was raised for the Dorset and Somerset air ambulance. A big thank you to Terry Pearce and John Baker for all their efforts throughout the year to make our Straggler matches happen.
