In the County U25 Junior pairs, Jack Vine and William Clarke (Norwest) made it to the quarter finals and Sam Dart (Purnell) and Kieran Jones ( Bloomfield) good run ended at the semi-finals, beaten by the favourites Jason Price and Jordan Sperry (Willmot Park).

Another of our outstanding young bowlers, Cameron Bowen was one of only seventy two youngsters nationwide to be invited to play at Lemington in a Bowls England U18 Talent ID day. He performed exceedingly well, winning in all five of the games played.

Two of our ladies County 4s teams were in action last week with Jane Gullick, Jan Palmer, Ann Toogood and Chris Godfrey progressing after a good win over Yeovil. Unfortunately, our other team of Sue Mathison, Jan Dart, Carole Jenner-Timms and Ailsa Midwinter came up against a very strong Street team to end their run in the competition. Our Mens MSL game last Wednesday was always going to be mixed fortunes as our ‘A’ team played the’B’ team with ‘A’ coming out on top. As we had no Somerset league game on Saturday, a very pleasant friendly was played against Bloomfield and let’s just say Purnell came second. The same result awaited our Mixed MSL team on Friday away to Weston Bath, losing 2-10 in hard fought game.
