MIDSOMER Norton maintained their bright start to the rugby season in Counties One Western North with a convincing 59-15 home win over Gordano who had lost only one of their previous matches.

Victory enabled Midsomer Norton to move up to third in the table, having won four of their five games and piling up 214 points.

Dings Crusaders and Nailsea and Backwell are both 100 per cent after five fixtures, with Crusaders having a one-point lead at the top over their rivals.

At the other end of the table, Chosen Hill Former Pupils and Gordon League are still without a win

Norton are not back in league action until Saturday, November 8, when they play away to Chard who are lying one place below them with three wins and two losses.
