B&NES Council have advised the planned road closure to Silver Street, Midsomer Norton on Monday, 23rd October has been postponed due to a burst water main today.

The Council have said: "We have had to postpone the road closure on Silver Street next week due to a burst water main at the junction of Fosseway/Charlton Road that has happened today.

"There are currently 3-way lights at the Fosseway/Charlton Road junction and repair works are expected to take several days."

The planning below was originally meant for 23rd October.

Bath and North East Somerset Council have announced an upcoming road closure on Silver Street, Midsomer Norton.

The Council said that the road closure mean that the length of B3355 Silver Street from its junction with Park Way, extending north to its junction with Ivy Walk, will be closed temporarily.

The closure is required as Bristol Water are carrying out works to replace a fire hydrant at the location.

The closure will take place on the 23rd October, remaining closed for a maximum period of two days, though works are anticipated to take two days.

The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.

The Council have suggested the following alternative route: B3355 Silver Street (remainder) – High Street – Church Lane – North Road – Northmead Road – A362 West Road – Station Road – Radstock Road – Somervale Road – A367 Wells Road – Fosseway – B3139 Wells Road – B3355 Silver Street – Vice Versa.
